As a leading accounting, tax, and advisory firm in Central New York, we’re seeking an experienced Tax Manager, Senior Tax Manager or Tax Principal to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll lead engagements, develop client relationships, and mentor rising talent—while continuing to grow in your own career.

What You’ll Do

You’ll oversee a variety of tax engagements, ensuring quality and compliance while delivering strategic insights to our clients. As a manager, senior manager or principal, you’ll take ownership of client relationships, guide internal teams, and contribute to Firm-wide initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the preparation and review of complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and individual
  • Managing a portfolio of clients across diverse industries and entity structures
  • Evaluating financial data and recommending tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members across multiple engagements
  • Researching and resolving advanced tax issues using authoritative guidance
  • Monitoring engagement budgets, deadlines, and billing
  • Serving as a point of contact for clients and building long-term relationships based on trust and responsiveness
  • Supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities for growth

What We’re Looking For

You’re a natural leader with a passion for tax strategy, client service, and team development. You’re comfortable managing engagements from start to finish and enjoy guiding others toward success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; Master’s in Taxation a plus
  • CPA license required
  • Minimum 5–15 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
  • Prior supervisory experience managing client relationships and engagement teams
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and international tax issues and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax software applications (experience with the CCH suite of products is a plus)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Salary & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, generous PTO, a comprehensive benefits package, and clear opportunities for growth.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $150,000 Annually

The listed salary range is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, skills, and alignment with the needs of the role.
