Professional Development
Professional development is part of our core at FustCharles, building on what we learn from one experience and applying it to the next for the benefit of all. As part of your engagement, we have a series of professional development programs that will help you continue to gain knowledge as you gather experience. Our Professional Development includes:
Mentoring & Leadership
The Firm’s mentoring program ensures that all of our professionals receive regular, one-on-one guidance from experienced professionals. The mentors will provide you with guidance and wisdom as you navigate the stages of your career. You’ll meet with your mentor no less than quarterly and as often as you like. Your mentor will guide you on the progress of your career goals and any questions or concerns that you have.
Training & Education
We provide an extensive amount of the on-the-job training, coupled with formal new Associate, Experienced Associate and Senior Associate training that has been developed internally, along with education from BDO, as a result of our membership in their Alliance Program.
Evaluation & Feedback
We provide team members with real-time, on-the-job feedback on their performance against Firm competencies and expectations. In addition, we provide formal engagement evaluations during the year and an annual performance evaluation. These processes ensure timely feedback to assist in career development.
Events, Programs and Community
Throughout the calendar year FustCharles employees can be involved in various activities that can help them develop meaningful relationships with peers and fellow employes, maintain and improve their health and stay form connections with the community in Syracuse and across Onondaga County.

Our Wellness Program
Beginning in January 2016, we started an initiative to invest in the health and wellness of our employees. Our Wellness Program offers various activities, events and educational lunch and learns every month to all employees.

The American Heart Association Workplace Health Acheivement evaluates overall quality and comprehensiveness of workplace health programs through a combination of workplace best practices and employee health.
Community Engagement
Partners and employees at FustCharles donate over 4,000 hours of community service per year to nonprofits and trade associations within our community. From leadership positions on nonprofit boards to serving breakfast at the Samaritan Center to volunteer roles at professional associations, our people are committed to giving back to worthwhile causes in our communities.
